1540 Room, located inside one of Savannah’s landmarks, The DeSoto Hotel, approached BCKYRD with the desire to increase their social media presence and craft a social media strategy that established themselves as an authority in the Savannah culinary space. Led by Chef Kyle Jacovino, 1540 Room needed this content to paint their restaurant as a place to find high quality food in a high quality location.
Approach
We invited Chef Kyle to the office for a discovery session with the goal of nailing down 1540 Room’s vision, pain points, creative direction, and a plan for future growth. We discussed the product offerings, the desired target audience, and look and feel.
We asked Chef Kyle to pick a celebrity that would personify the brand to help round out the narrative and content strategy. He decided that 1540 Room would be the place where George Clooney, and friends, would dine in Savannah.
With this personification in mind, we developed campaigns involving Chef Kyle, his team, and the inspiration behind every dish. The main goal was to increase overall brand awareness, quantify marketing efforts, as well as usher the local Savannah community into the space.
Solution
The 1540 Room had a dedicated following but needed a touch of finesse in its art direction to accurately depict the high quality service. We had our team spend time with Chef Kyle, learning his perspective on food and the Savannah community and watching behind the scenes as he and his team crafted and curated their infamous farm-to-table dishes.
